a retreat to find a little inner peace in your world
too little too late
too much to often
sound like you?
can leave you feeling run down, hyper tired or wired, tense in your body and sick in the stomach.
and lost friendships, missed job opportunities, fear of travel, loss of self.
and if not understood or regulated, can leave you feeling lost and burned out.
but there is a way to come back into balance.
the feeling of safety and clarity
it's not a thinking thing!
when the feeling of safety is missing, your systems is remarkably adaptable, but you may notice the signs and symptoms that things are not right.
by understanding the science of safety in your body and practice the Three Rhythms.
you may then see changes in your blood pressure, reduced inflammation, better mood, improved sleep, better relationships, job opportunities, more travel, knowing your Self.
What are the 3 rhythms?
on retreat we'll practice identifying and
feeling into the three natural survival rhythms
rest or shutdown
we'll practice safety
flight and fight
we'll practice support
play and connection
we'll practice connection
can feel like
Anxiety and depression, are often the result of unresolved trauma.
As a human being your highest need is to survive and to bring your mind, body and heart space into union and harmony.
Let's try this together?
we all know our body keeps the score
so what then?
you'll practice trauma sensitive yoga - trauma lives in the mind body disconnection.
You'll experience the wisdom of your body by;
embodied choice making
creating body rhythms
controlling breathing patterns
body shapes for mind balancing
emotional mindful flow
Your mind can't think back those safe feelings. But your body can.
and resting and digesting, we'll practice that too
it's the best part!
after lunch, your body will go into a healing state

the dance of life is an invitation to dance with life, to progressively awaken your 'joie de vivre' - joy of living
an invitation to experience the pleasure and enjoyment of moving with music, playfulness and connection with others
you could join in, watch, or regulate in a way that suits your energy.
you don’t need to be a dancer to enjoy this, it is natural human potential everyone can access.
Biodanza offers ‘structuring moments’ that can help create a new baseline in our nervous, immune and endocrine systems.
I came back more reintegrated as we are already integrated beings as Mohan says ... we just get stuck in our heads more than our bodies.
Being a highly sensitive person I take in a lot of energy from
Others in my work and personal life
This gave me a chance to reintegrate my body and mind through the breath and movement
We are naturally social animals,
so lets get social, safely.
ill health due to loneliness costs Australia $2.7bn each year
lonely people had worse general and mental health outcomes
more likely to smoke
more likely to drink more
and exercise less
they see their GP more frequently
as well as visit hospitals more frequently
About your retreat leader Kendra
Yoga, particularly meditation, has offered me a continuous, sustainable pathway towards self awakening, compassion and wellness. As a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Therapist, I am aware of the mental health crisis we are in, and offer retreats as a way of immersing ourselves in the 'inner calling and connection' quite often left behind in the busyness of the world.
I acknowledge and am grateful for my trauma aware teachers; Dr Stephen Porges, Deb Dana, Dr Gabor Mate, Sarah Ball, Dave Emerson, Jenn Turner, Thomas Hubel and Kathy Kain.
I invite you to join me on this sweet experiential, safe and nurturing day retreat within the peaceful haven of the National Botanic Gardens.
