FAQ
Id like to know more about the two types of trauma yoga you offer to see which one might suit me. Id also like to know more about concession rates (I have a HCC) and whether the class fees are offered under a health fund rebate.
The two types of trauma sensitive yoga are;
TCTSY - closed group course or private, and
General open community trauma genitive yoga classes
The main difference is that the TCTSY is a guided 8 weeks course that is a clinical intervention for complex trauma and treatment resistant PTSD.
The community classes are open to everyone to come and try at any time that follow the principles of trauma sensitive yoga.
Even though EVERYONE can benefit from participating in TCTSY it is specifically for those who want to commit to a deeper connection to yoga for healing trauma.
If still unclear about what is suitable for you. Please book am Initial Wellbeing session with Kendra to discuss what suits you.
The concession card rate is $30 per class and $120 per private. Health Funds sadly no longer offer a rebate for Yoga.
I have been looking at your yoga classes andI am going to travel for a few weeks so I am hoping to do online yoga class. Is this possible?
Yes! Absolutely. There are people all over Australia joining Kendra's classes via a Zoom link.
I’m wondering if you could offer a semi private trauma sensitive yoga package for me and my partner? We’ve both done a lot of individual trauma therapy and we have both also been doing yoga together over the last two years so practicing together creates a layer of safety for both of us, particularly my partner who has complex trauma. We would love to engage in a body focussed experience. Is this what you can offer?
Yes, Kendra would love to set up a weekly semi private yoga therapy session for you, and can offer TCTSY trauma sensitive yoga which offers a more safer, interoceptive, somatic experience than other yoga's.
I was wondering if you could advise which class would be appropriate for myself and colleague? Both being front line workers we were advised this may be beneficial for us both to reduce stress and anxiety. We were hoping to try a class first if possible?
You most certainly can come and try a casual class trauma sensitive to see if it's for you.
Simply fill in the enrolment for here and Kendra will send through the details.
The timetable is here. Casual class is $35 or concession $30.
I am a young Autistic female who has found peace and healing through the practise of yoga. Now I am looking for ways to help me build a better relationship with my body and thought that joining a class would help me build confidence with this around others. Is this something you can help me with?
Trauma Sensitive yoga offers a deeper experience with your own interoception, or your capacity to feel into your body. The specific TCTSY yoga course might be a suitable step into building a compassionate relationship with your body.
Yogasana or body shapes can help neurodiverse brains to establish proprioception - body space, as well as slowing down and developing mindfulness can create a greater sense of 'felt sense' or grounding in the body. Calming the physical body can create better focus, less stress in the nervous system.
You can choose from group classes to private depending on what feels like an easier start.
Yoga timetable is here.
Can I try yoga if I have severe knee osteoarthritis and can't kneel?
Absolutely! Trauma-sensitive yoga focuses on your own interoception—how you feel—rather than perfecting postures. We offer chair versions of asanas, so if kneeling isn't possible, you can find a version that works for you. You can move between floor, chair, and standing throughout the practice.
